The Dying of Robin: A Mother's Reflections

Catharine Barnes Coolidge

Cary, North Carolina

Requests for reprints should be sent to Catharine Barnes Coolidge, 614 W. Cornwall, Cary. North Carolina 27521.

Robin, the author's daughter, was ill for six years with cystic fibrosis and died of this disease. A personal account is given of how the family reacted to the diagnosis, to the child's hospitalization and clinic visits, to caring for her at home, and to Robin's death when it came. The experience provides a perspective for professionals who must deal with families of dying children.
